Assam Police SI & Assistant Jailers Application 2015
The Assam Police Office of the Additional Director General of Police (T&AP)-Cum-Chairman upon receipt of the Online Application Forms from the Candidates shall shortlist the Candidates for various stages of Recruitment of Sub-Inspector (UB) / Sub-Inspector (SB) / in Assam Police & Assistant Jailors in Assam Prisons Department, 2015-16.
**There is no Application / Examination Fee in respect of the Advertisement.
Eligibility Criteria (As On 01.07.2015):

Minimum 20 Years and Maximum 24 Years of Age. The Candidates belonging to different Communities seeking Relaxation in Upper Age Limits are advised to refer to the Attached Notification.
|Assistant Jailor||27||21||38||(a) Degree in Arts / Science / Commerce of any recognized University.
(i) Diploma in the fields of Criminology and Correctional Works.
(ii) ‘A’ / ’B’ / ’C’ Certificate of Membership of the National Cadet Corps (in case of the candidates other than Ex-Servicemen).
(iii) Diploma in Computer Application.
Minimum 21 Years and Maximum 38 Years of Age. The Candidates belonging to different Communities seeking Relaxation in Upper Age Limits are advised to refer to the Attached Notification.
The Optical Mark Recognition Based Written Examination carrying 100 Marks shall comprise 100 Objective-Type Multiple Choice Questions and each MCQs will be of One (01) Mark. There will be Negative marking of ½ Mark for each Wrong Answer.
The Objective-Type Multiple Choice Questions would be set in three parts (i) Logical Reasoning, Aptitude and Comprehension (ii) Matters relating to the History and Culture of Assam and India and (iii) General Knowledge. The Candidates will have to use Black Ball Pen to answer the Optical Mark Recognition Answer Sheet. Duration of the Examination would be of Three (03) Hours.
The Final Merit List will be prepared with the following Criteria:

There shall be only ONE MERIT LIST for each Category; i.e., Un-Reserved / Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe (P) / Scheduled Tribe (H) / Other Backward Classes / MOBC, separately for Male and Female for the entire State. There shall be no Waiting List prepared.
N.B: In case of a TIE in the Marks, the candidate Older in Age will be placed Higher on the Merit List. Further, the candidates having the same Date of Birth and have obtained Equal Marks, will be placed in the merit list according to Higher Height.
