The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) is to publish within TWO WEEKS upon conduct of the Optical Mark Recognition Based Written Examination scheduled to be held on the 18th of October 2015 (18.10.2015).

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) would display on our Website the Scanned Image of the Optical Mark Recognition Based Written Examination Answer Key of Test Booklet A, B, C & D Sets. We are keeping tabs on the upcoming communiqués likely to be released by the Bureau of Indian Standards. The Bureau of Indian Standards shall conduct Optical Mark Recognition Based Written Examination comprising the Objective-Type Multiple Choice Questions for the candidates.

We anticipate the Bureau of Indian Standards to announce the Optical Mark Recognition Based Written Examination Result towards October-end 2015. The Bureau of Indian Standards shall determine the Category wise Expected Cut-Off Marks for the candidates to shortlist them for Personal Interviews.

The Bureau of Indian Standards has notified the Posts of Scientists ‘B’ against 97 Posts in the disciplines; viz., Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Microbiology and Leather Technology.

Selection Procedure:

Optical Mark Recognition Based Written Test followed by the Result prepared on the basis of the Minimum Qualifying Marks likely to be determined at the time of the declaration of the Result of the Written Examination

AND

Personal Interview followed by the Result announced on the basis of the Performance and Marks of the candidates).

Selection Criteria:

The Bureau of Indian Standards shall SHORTLIST the Candidates based on the Performance and Marks secured by the candidates in the Optical Mark Recognition Based Written Examination to be held on October 18th, 2015.

The Candidates shortlisted in the Optical Mark Recognition Based Written Examination would be summoned for Personal Interview.

Final Selection of the Candidates shall be strictly in order of Merit based on the Sufficient High Marks obtained by the candidates both in Optical Mark Recognition based Written Exam and Personal Interview.

Service Conditions: Service Bond:

The Bureau of Indian Standards has underlined the following statement in respect of the Service Bond:

The Selected Candidates shall be placed on Probation for a period of Two (02) Years.

The Candidates, upon appointment to the post of Scientists – B through Competitive Examination, shall be required to furnish a Surety Bond in the form specified by the Bureau, for serving the Bureau for a minimum period of Three (03) Years. If he / she decides to leave the service either by Resignation or Absence from the Service without permission earlier than Three Years from the Date of the Employment, then he/she shall have to reimburse the Bureau of Indian Standards Six months’ Emoluments at the Rate last drawn by him / her unless he / she has worked for a shorter period in which case he / she shall be required to reimburse the full amount drawn by him/her.
