The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) is to shortly declare the Optical Mark Recognition Based Written Test Schedule followed by the Physical Endurance Test / Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Physical Measurement Test (PMT) / Physical Standards Test (PST), Documents Verification before the releasing the Final Select List.
The Central Reserve Police Force shall conduct the Assistant Sub-Inspector (Steno) Open Competitive Examination 2015 – 2016 for Online Recruitment Drive to fill up the Reserved / Backlog / Current Vacancies for the Post of Assistant Sub-Inspector (Stenographer).
We would continue to bring Regular Updates on the Central Reserve Police Force notified ASI (Steno) Open Competitive Examination 2015 – 16, including the Result of the Written Part of ASI (Steno) Open Competitive Examination – 2015-16 followed by the Physical Efficiency Test of Asstt Sub Inspector (Stenographer) Open Competitive Recruitment Examination 2015 – 16.
The Written Examination will be of 225 Marks consisting of following two Parts:

There will be only one Question Paper for Two-and-Half (2½) Hours’ duration consisting of above two Parts. The Objective-Type Multiple Choice Questions in all the Tests of Part – I (Section – A to Section D) will be “Objective Type with Multiple Choice”. Each Section will be consisting of 50 Multiple Choice Questions carrying one Mark each for every right answer. A candidate having obtained the Qualifying Percentage out of total 200 Marks shall be considered as Qualified for the next stage. The Aggregate Qualifying Marks will be 40% for General / OBC Categories and 35% for SC/ST Candidates, i.e., 80 Marks for General / OBC Candidates and 70 Marks for SC/ST out of 200 Marks in Part-I of the Optical Mark Recognition Based Written Test.
Note: 2 Part-II will consist of a Descriptive manner consisting of two Questions, i.e., Essay-writing of 15 Marks and a Letter writing of 10 Marks (Total 25 Marks). Marks obtained by the Candidates in Part – II will be added in the Final Merit List. Part-II will not have Minimum Qualifying Marks. Note:-3 Final Merit List will be drawn on the basis of the Marks obtained in Part – I and Part – II of Total 225 Marks.
Preparation of the Final Merit List:
- After completion of the Medical Examination, Category-Wise Merit Lists, viz., General / Un-Reserved, Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Classes and Ex-Servicemen will be drawn separately.
- The Merit List will be drawn up based on the aggregate Marks obtained in the Written Test by the Candidates.
In case of TIE in the Marks, the Merit List will be prepared in the following manner:
i) The candidate older in age gets preference.
ii) If the TIE still persists, it is finally resolved by referring to the Alphabetical Order of names in English, i.e., a candidate whose name begins with the Alphabet, which comes First in the Alphabetical Order gets Preference.
Scheme of the Examination / Selection Process: The Recruitment shall be conducted in Two (02) Phases as here under:
- First Phase: Written Examination.
- Second Phase: (a) Physical Standard Test (PST) / Scrutiny of the Educational Certificates / Testimonials and all other documents (b) Skill Test (i.e., Stenography / Short Hand Test Dictation and Transcription on Computers only and regulated through the Software); Dictation @80 Words Per Minute (WPM) of 10 Minutes’ duration and Transcription Time: 50 Minutes in English or 65 minutes in Hindi on Computer (c) Medical Examination.
