University of Delhi (DU) Faculty of Management Studies & Commerce Department (UD, FMS & CD) in regards to admission into different Master of Business Administration and Executive Course and Master in Business Administration consisting of Master of International Business (MIB) and Master of Human Resource Development and Organizational Development (MHRDOD) under the Delhi University, Faculty of Management Studies and Department of Commerce.

Application & Selection Procedure:

Applications for Admission into the Program are invited through Advertisements in major National Newspapers every year. The Applicants may register themselves for Admission into Master in Business Administration (MBA) Program (2018 – 2020) through Delhi University, Faculty of Management Studies (DU FMS) Website by filling up Online Registration Form (ORF) and by paying the Requisite Registration Fee of Rs.1000 (Rs. 350 for Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe / Persons with Disabilities), between October 05, 2017 and November 20, 2017.

Shortlisting of the Candidates for Personal Interview:

To encourage diversity of Gender and Academic Disciplines, for the purpose of Shortlisting the Candidates for Interview Process different Weight ages shall be assigned to the Scores of different Sections of the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2017.

A Composite Score shall be computed giving Due Weight ages of 30%, 30%, and 40% to the Scores of QA, DI / LR and VRC Sections respectively as provided by the CAT Center for the CAT 2017 for the Candidates who apply to the Faculty of Management Studies. An Additional 03 Marks shall be added to the Composite Score so computed in case of Women Candidates for the purpose of Shortlisting. This Composite Score shall be used only for shortlisting the Candidates for Interview Process.

Admission Merit List:

From amongst the Shortlisted Candidates, Admission into Master in Business Administration Program shall be based on the Extempore Speech, Group Discussion, Personal Interview, Class X & Class XII Marks and CAT 2017 Scores as provided by CAT Center. The following Weight – System will be applied for drawing up the Merit List for Final Selection:

 An Additional 03% of the Maximum Aggregate Marks shall be awarded to the Woman Candidates who appear for the interview while drawing the List of the Selected Candidates.

Applicants may visit IIM CAT 2017 Website  for appearing in the Common Admission Test (CAT 2017).

Applicants who have not taken CAT 2017 shall not be considered for Admission.

The Candidates will be required to furnish / produce their respective Original Certificates and the Mark Sheets at the time of the Interview. The Final List of the Candidates selected shall be declared after completing the Process for all the Candidates.

Eligibility Criteria for MBA Program:

The Candidates applying for Admission into the Master in Business Administration Program must have pursued at least a Bachelor’s Degree Program after Twelve Years of formal Schooling with Minimum 50% Marks at Graduation Level (SC/ST: Passing Marks; OBC/PwDs/CW: 45% Marks as per the University Rules) or equivalent Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA). The Candidates appearing for the Final Year Examination of Bachelor’s Degree may also apply.

Note:

The Candidates appearing in the Final Year Examination of Bachelor’s Degree are Eligible to apply for Admission irrespective of their respective Percentage of Scores obtained till the time of Application, provided that they expect to fulfill the Eligibility Criteria when their Results are declared and which must be submitted to the Faculty of Management Studies Office at the time of Admission into the Program.

Doctoral Program (Ph.D.):

The Full Time Doctoral Program offered at the Faculty of Management Studies provides Opportunity to undertake pioneering and Original Research in different areas and the aspects of Management with an emphasis on Practical implications of Research. The Program is designed to augment Academic and Practical Knowledge. The Faculty encourages the Candidates to undertake Research in Interdisciplinary Areas of Management, cutting across functional and the Sectorial Boundaries.

Maximum Number of Intake of Philosophiae Doctor (Ph.D.) Students shall be 30. However, the Faculty may decide not to fill all the Seats, if adequate number of the Suitable Candidates is not available. The Students shall be selected in various Functional Areas, i.e., Organizational Behavior, Human Resources Management, Marketing Management, Management of Information Technology, Financial Management, Strategic Management, Production & Operations Management, Management Science and Managerial Economics.

Eligibility Criteria:

To be Eligible for Admission in to the Philosophiae Doctor (Ph.D.) Program, any Candidate must have obtained a Master’s Degree / Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) Degree of the University of Delhi, or any other recognized University, or a Post Graduate Degree in an allied Subject Equivalent thereof securing a minimum 55% Marks.

The Candidates having a Master in Business Administration / Master’s Degree in an allied Subject from the University of Delhi or Equivalent would be required to write the Common Admission Test 2017 for Admission into the Ph.D. Program.

Admission Procedure for Doctoral Program:

Applications for Admission in to the Program are invited through Advertisements in major National Newspapers every year. The Candidates (except those exempted from the Admission Test) seeking Admission in to the Philosophiae Doctor (Doctoral) Program, are required to take the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2017 to be conducted by Indian Institutes of Management (IIM) on November 26, 2017. The Applicants may visit the IIMCAT Website for appearing in the Common Admission Test (CAT 2017). The Shortlisted Candidates, thereafter, shall be required to submit the Online Registration Form to the Board of Research Studies (BRS) at the Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi, latest by February 28, 2018.

The Candidates Exempted from Common Admission Test (CAT) 2017 for Admission in to the Philosophiae Doctor (Ph.D.) Program. MBA & Doctoral Programs Information Bulletin – 2018

  1. Teachers of University of Delhi holding Permanent, Temporary or Ad-hoc Positions and having completed 02-Years (Two Years) of Service as Teacher in any Department / Constituent College of University of Delhi.
  2. Applicants in receipt of National Fellowships, such as:

  4. Junior Research Fellow through University Grants Commission / National Eligibility Test (UGC/NET) and Council of Scientific & Industrial Research / National Eligibility Test (CSIR / NET).
  • Fellowship of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) / Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) / Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) / Indian Council of Historical Research (ICHR) / Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) or from any other recognized Government Institutions / Organizations
  1. Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowships of University Grants Commission for SC/ST
  2. SAP Fellowships of the University Grants Commission (UGC)
  3. Project Junior Research Fellow / Project Assistant
  • The Candidates with the University Grants Commission (Non – National Eligibility Test) Fellowship.

The Candidates exempted from the Admission Test (CAT 2017) will also be required to register themselves for Admission in to Ph.D. Program through the FMS Website by filling up Online Registration Form and by paying the Requisite Registration Fee of Rs.1000/- between October 05, 2017 and November 20, 2017.

All the Eligible Candidates, including those Declared Successful in the CAT 2017, will be required to appear for a Personal Interview to be considered for Admission in to the Philosophiae Doctor (Doctoral) Program at the Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi.

Foreign Nationals:

The Foreign Nationals with Indian or Foreign Degrees, but who are not currently staying in India, need to apply via the respective Consulate / Embassy with a Mandatory Minimum Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) Score of 650. Such candidates should have fellowship from their country of origin and/or recognized International Agencies. Foreign Nationals with Foreign Degrees are required to submit both GMAT as well as Test Of English as as Foreign Language (TOEFL) Scores.

All Foreign Nationals will be required to fill the form of Board of Research Studies, Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi, if Selected for Admission into the Philosophiae Doctor (Ph.D.) Program. The Online Registration Form should be submitted along with a Demand Draft of Rs. 250/- drawn in favor of the Registrar, University of Delhi, Delhi – 110 007. Foreign Nationals are also required to submit a Research Proposal, clearly indicating Research Objective, Methodology and a tentative Bibliography along with the Online Registration Form.

All the Foreign Nationals seeking Admission in to Ph.D. Program should latest by February 28, 2018 apply through the Office of the Deputy Dean (Foreign Students), Conference Center, Opposite Botany Department, University of Delhi, Delhi – 110 007, India.

Note:

If Selected, Admission shall be granted only after the Candidate arrives with a valid Student / Research Visa, and gets registered with the Foreign Students’ Registry Office, University of Delhi. Attestations Faculty of Management Studies acknowledges the Self-Attested Copies of Documents / Papers provided by the Students. It is made clear that if any False Attestation / Falsified Records are detected, then the Student shall be barred from Attending any Course in the University for the Next Five Years and in addition, a Criminal Case under relevant Section of Indian Penal Code (IPC) (viz., 470, 471, 474 IPC etc.) will be instituted against him / her.

Procedure for Selection:

The Applicants may register themselves for Admission into MBA Executive and MBA Executive (Health Care Administration) Programs by filling up Online Application Forms and by paying the Requisite Fee of Rs 1000/- in respect of General, OBC and CW (Rs. 350 for SC / ST / PwDs Category) Candidates for each Program, between October 5, 2017 and November 20, 2017.

Total Number of the seats in Master in Business Administration Executive and MBA Executive (Health Care Administration) Programs are 172 and 42 respectively, including Supernumerary Seats for the PwDs and CW Category Candidates. The Eligible Candidates shall be Selected for Admission in to the Programs on the basis of following Components, as mentioned in Table 4.

Any Candidate is required to take a Test on Management Aptitude and General Aptitude / General Knowledge,   General Awareness as per the Date and Time to be  announced by the Faculty of Management Studies.

04. Personal Interview 15 To be conducted individually for all the Candidates.

Note:

  1. Rounding-off a Fraction of the Marks for the purpose of Eligibility or in the Academic Component is not Admissible.
  2. Only Completed Years of the Service shall be considered for scoring the Experience Component. Executive Experience out of the Total Experience will be counted as determined by the Competent Interview Board at the time of Interview.
  3. In case of Application showing Grade Points, Conversion Formulae, as given by the respective University / Institute must be supplied, otherwise Scoring in such Cases shall be based on the Scheme followed by the University of Delhi in its Admission Guidelines for other Courses in similar instances.
  4. All Claims of Qualification, Experience, Reservation, Grade Conversion, etc., shall have to be justified at the time of Interview.
  5. The Candidates are required to furnish / produce their Original Certificates and the Mark-Sheets at the time of Interview.
  6. The Program Structure and the Scheme of Courses may change after due process followed at the University of Delhi.

Eligibility Conditions for MBA Executive Program:

The Candidates applying for Admission into the Two-Years’ Evening MBA Executive Program must have pursued at least a Three-Years Bachelor’s Degree Program (Regular) after Twelve Years of Formal Schooling, having secured Minimum 45% Aggregate Marks or Equivalent Grades in any of the Disciplines, such as, Arts, Commerce, Social Sciences, Sciences, Mathematics / Statistics, Medicine, Engineering or Technology. Additionally, she / he should have at least Five Years of Experience as an Executive or an Administrator in a Commercial / Government Establishment / Registered Organization after passing the Bachelor’s Degree Examination. Working Experience shall be determined as on the 1st of April of the Year of Admission. The Candidates should be either sponsored or he / she shall have to furnish / produce “No Objection Certificate” to pursue the Program issued by his / her Present Employer / Current Employer during the Admission Year.

Eligibility conditions for MBA Executive (Health Care Administration) Program:

The Candidate seeking Admission in to the Two-Years’ Evening Master in Business Administration Executive (Health Care Administration) Program must have a Bachelor Degree having secured Minimum 45% Aggregate Marks or Equivalent Grades in any Discipline, such as, Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (Medicine) / Bachelor of Dental Surgery (Dentistry) / Biotechnology / Genomics / Genetics / Nursing / Bioengineering / Alternative Systems of Medicine / Paramedical Discipline / Pharmacology /  Anthropology / Zoology or an Examination recognized as Equivalent.

The Bachelor’s Degree should be awarded by the University of Delhi or any other recognized University / Deemed University / Institute. Additionally, he / she should have Minimum Five Years of Experience as an Executive or an Administrator in a Commercial / Industrial / Government Establishment / Registered Organization after acquiring the Bachelor Degree (excluding Internship). Work Experience shall be determined as on the 1st of April of the Year of Admission.

The Candidate should be either Sponsored or he / she shall need to produce a “No Objection Certificate” to pursue the Program issued by his / her Present Employer / Current Employer.
