GMCH 03-Years GNM Course for the Academic Session 2018 – 2019 – Application: Taking cognizance of the Director Principal, Government Medical College & Hospital (GMCH), Chandigarh, General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) Course Notification for the Academic Session 2018 – 19, likely to follow in June / July 2018 for Admission into 03-Years General Nursing & Midwifery Course Granted at Government Multi-Specialty Hospital, Sector 16, Chandigarh for the Academic Session 2018 – 2021.

we would like to insist on Male / Female Wards aspiring to seek Admission into General Nursing & Midwifery, to ensure the Eligibility Conditions being Fulfilled by them as stated in the subsequent Paragraph:

The Candidates would have to Download from the GMCH College Web Link (Displayed in the Later Part of this Information Bulletin) the e-Admission Brochure / Information Bulletin Accompanied by the Application Form provided therein.

 

Eligibility Criteria:

Age Limitation:

Un-Reserved (General) Candidates should be between 17 Years and 35 Years of Age.

Relaxation in Upper Age Limitations for Reserved Candidates.

Minimum Educational Qualification:

The Candidate must have Passed the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination / Higher Secondary Certificate Examination / Intermediate (10+2) from the Central Board of Secondary Education / Central Government / State Government Recognized Board of Secondary Education or Equivalent thereof.  Both Male and Female Candidates are Eligible for Application / Admission.  General Candidates with 40% Marks / 35% Marks obtained by the Dependents of Defence Personnel / Para-Military Personnel as well as Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe Candidates.

  • Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (10+2) with Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB) and English with Minimum 40% Marks in Aggregate.

Or

  • Higher Secondary Certificate Examination / Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (10+2) with Minimum 40% Marks in Arts (Mathematics, Biotechnology, Economics, Political Science, History, Geography, Business Studies, Accountancy, Home Science, Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy) and English Core / Elective or Health Care Science / Vocational Stream only Passing from the Board under AISSCE / Central Board of Secondary Education / Indian Certificate of Secondary Education / Secondary School Certificate Examination /  Higher Secondary Certificate Examination or Equivalent Board thereof;

Or

  • 10+2 Vocational Auxiliary Nurse Midwife with Minimum 40% Marks under the Central Board of Secondary Education, and Duly Recognized by the Indian Nursing Council;

Or

  • Registered as Auxiliary Nurse Midwife with the State Nursing Registration Council (SNRC)

Or

  • The Students Qualified in Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination / Higher Secondary Certificate Examination (10+2) Arts, Science Examination, or Health Care Science – Vocational Stream Only, conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling with Minimum 40% Marks.

Criteria for Selection for Admission:

Merit List drawn up based on the Marks secured by the Students in Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination / Higher Secondary Certificate Examination (10+2).  The Candidates with Merit subject to Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB) shall be considered First Eligible Candidates for Admission.  In case of the Seats left Vacant, the Candidates having Physics and Chemistry and Auxiliary Nurse Midwife / LHV / Health Care Science Vocational Stream only will be considered Eligible for Admission. The Candidates with Humanities / Arts Subjects shall be considered Last of All Eligible for Admission into General Nursing & Midwifery Course.

Inter-Se Merit:

In case of TIE arisen due to Equal Marks obtained by Two or more Students in the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination / Higher Secondary Certificate Examination / Intermediate, Inter-se Merit shall be determined as stated in the subsequent Part:

The Candidates with Higher Marks in Science Subject with Biology will rank Higher;

The Candidates possessing Fewer / Lesser Attempts for Qualifying / Passing Intermediate (10+2) Examination shall be Higher in Ranking / Merit List;

If the Marks obtained and Attempts made in Passing / Qualifying 10+2 Examination or Other Qualifying Examination are also Similar, then any Candidate Senior in Age shall Rank Senior to the Candidate Junior in Age;

If the Marks Obtained, Attempts made and the Age being the Same, then the Candidates having Higher Marks in Aggregate shall be considered Higher in Rank / Merit List;

Government Medical College & Hospital  Counseling: 2017-18

The Office of the Director Principal shall facilitate Counseling as per the Dates Announced in the Information Brochure / Bulletin. Counseling for Admission into 03-Years’ General Nursing & Midwifery Course for the Academic Year 2018 – 2021 shall be held as per the Date declare in the Admission Brochure to be released.

Counseling shall be held within 02 Weeks of the Last Date of the Applications and Documents received from the Students.

The Students shall be Intimated the Documents for Submission while attending Counseling.

The Academic Session followed by Counseling on Seat Allotment for the Students shall commence as per the Date Declared in the Information Bulletin in September 2018

Admission Criteria – Seat Quota:

85% Seats for the Candidates having Qualified / Passed Intermediate / Higher Secondary Certificate Examination / Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination from the Union Territory of Chandigarh.;

15% Seats for the Candidates having Qualified / Passed the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (10+2) / Higher Secondary Certificate Examination / Intermediate from the Institutions located outside Chandigarh Punjab and Haryana.

Waiting List:

A Waiting List prepared by the Office of the Director Principal shall Intimate Confirmation of the Availability of the Seats for Admission, if any there.

If not Revised as the Fee was Acknowledged in 2017:

Reserved Candidates:  ₹ 150/-
