The Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati is likely to issue by mid of August 2015, a Notification in respect of the JAM 2016.

IIT Joint Admission Test M.Sc JAM Form 2016

The Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati (IITG) is all set to issue Press Communique to invite Online Application Forms from the Candidates aspiring for Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. (JAM) 2016 for admission into different M.Sc. Domains; viz., Integrated Ph.D. Programs at the Indian Institute of Science Bangalore & M.Sc. (Two / 02-Years), Joint M.Sc. – Ph.D., M.Sc. – Ph.D. Dual Degree, M.Sc. – M.Tech., M.Sc. – M.S.(Research) / Ph.D. Dual Degree and other Post Bachelor’s Degree Programs at the Indian Institutes of Technology located in Bhubaneswar, Bombay, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Roorkee and Ropar.

Pattern of Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. – 2016:

 

The upcoming JAM 2016 for all the Seven Test Papers will be carried out as Online Computer Based Test (CBT).

The Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. 2016 consisting of an Online Test shall comprise Three Sections; i.e., Section A, Section B & Section C.

  1. Section A shall contain 30 Objective-Type Multiple Choice Questions.
  2. Section B shall have 10 Objective-Type Multiple Select Questions.
  3. Section C shall comprise 20 Numerical Answer Type Questions

 All the aforesaid Sections shall carry Penalty in the form of NEGATIVE MARKING for each Wrong Response submitted in the Optical Markup Reader Answer Sheet (OMRAS) / Optical Markup Reader Response Sheet (OMRRS).

Rank List:

For each Test Paper in the JAM 2016, Separate Rank Lists, based on the Performance of candidates in the Test Paper, will be prepared for him / her belonging to General (Unreserved), OBC-NCL, SC, ST, and PwD categories.

Merit List:

The Results (Merit Lists) will be declared in the Evening hours. The Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. – 2016 results shall be published on the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati Website or any other responsible to conduct the JAM – 2016.

For each test paper, an All India Merit List will be prepared. Separate Merit Lists will be prepared for OBC-NCL, SC, ST, and PwD category candidates.

The number of candidates included in the All India Merit List will depend on the total number of seats available in a given subject. These candidates (henceforth called Qualified Candidates) shall be eligible to apply for admission to any of the corresponding Academic Programs available at the Indian Institute of Science and the Indian Institutes of Technologies.

The Score Card [indicating the All India Rank(s) and the mark(s) obtained by the candidate] would be uploaded / available for download from the JAM-2016 Website for the qualified candidates.

Admission Procedure:

Only the candidates having been declared as qualified in the JAM 2016 (whose names appear in the Merit List) will be eligible to apply for admission to any of the corresponding Academic Programs available at IISc and IITs (Details available in the Information Brochure).
