The Karnataka Examinations Authority, Submission of Online Applications for recruitment to the Posts of Staff Nurses in response to the Government of Karnataka, Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) Notification No. ED/KEA/ ADMN/45/2014-15 is in progress w.e.f. the 2nd of November 2015 (02.11.2015) with the Deadline for Online Registration closing on the 2nd of December 2015 (02.12.2015).

The Karnataka Examinations Authority shall conduct the KEA Staff Nurses Competitive Examination, 2015 in January 2016. We would publish on our Web site the KEA announced Dates for Issuance of the Admittance Tickets / Hall Exam Tickets and the KEA Staff Nurses Competitive Examination, 2015 against 1064 Posts comprising 243 Seats (24%) earmarked for the Candidates with B.Sc. and 821 Seats (75%) Seats reserved for the Candidates in possession of B.Sc. Diploma.

Pattern of the KEA Staff Nurse Competitive Examination 2015:
The Karnataka Examinations Authority shall conduct the KEA Staff Nurses Competitive Examination in the format of Optical Mark Recognition Based Written Examination as detailed here under:
100 Objective-Type Multiple Choice Questions, 100 Marks, 2½ Hours’ (150 Minutes) – 02 Hours’ (120 Minutes) Duration
Kannada Language Test comprising 150 Objective-Type Multiple Choice Questions with Two Hours’ duration shall carry 150 Marks.
Method of Selection:
The Karnataka Examinations Authority Competitive Examination is common for all the Medical Sciences Institutions.
On the basis of merit determined as per the marks secured in the Competitive Examination by the candidates, the Karnataka Examinations Authority would prepare a Common Merit List in respect of each Institution; If the Aggregate Percentage of the Total Marks secured in the Competitive Examination of Two or more candidates is Equal, the order of merit in respect of such candidates shall be fixed on the basis of their Age, the person Older in Age being placed Higher in the order of Merit.
Despite the Candidate has applied for more than one Institution, he / she will be included in the Merit List for all the Institutions to which he / she has applied based on the performance in the Competitive Examination.
Educational Qualification: Staff Nurse:
Those who are applying for B.Sc. Posts should have in possession a Degree in B.Sc. Nursing from the Recognized institute.
Those who are applying for Diploma Posts, must possess a Certificate in General Nursing Course of at least / not less than 03-Years and a Certificate in Midwifery or Psychiatric Nursing Course of not less than 6 months from the recognized Institute and
The registration in Karnataka Nursing Council is Mandatory for both the Posts.
Age Limit (As on 02.12.2015):
As on the Last Date (02.12.2015) fixed for receipt of the Online Applications, the candidate must NOT have attained the age of
- a) 35 Years in case of General Merit candidates;
- b) 38 Years in case of 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B Category Candidates
- c) 40 Years in case of Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Category – 1 Candidates.
