Karnataka Examinations Authority Diploma Common Entrance Test for admission into 2nd Year Engineering Courses Under Lateral Entry Scheme for allotment of the Karnataka Examinations Authority Affiliated Colleges to the Candidates by offering B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Arch. Courses at the Day Engineering Colleges / Evening Engineering Colleges located in Karnataka State

The Karnataka Examinations Authority shall conduct the

  • Karnataka Examinations Authority Diploma Common Entrance Test (KDCET) 2016
  • Kannada Language Test (KLT) for Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadigas
  • National Aptitude Test for Architecture (NATA) 2016

The Karnataka Examinations Authority would conduct Karnataka Examinations Authority Diploma Common Entrance Test (KDCET) 2016 to determine the Eligibility of Karnataka State domiciled candidates for admission into the Second year (IInd) or Third (IIIrd) Semester Full Time B.E Courses in the Government / University / Private Aided / Private Un‐Aided Professional Educational Institutions in Karnataka for the Academic year 2016‐17.

Admissions into the Government seats shall be made in accordance with the Karnataka Selection of Candidates for Admission into Government Seats in Professional Educational Institutions Rules, 2006 (‘Rules‐2006’) and as amended from time to time and, therefore, the details and instructions shall be noticed in the Karnataka Examinations Authority Diploma Common Entrance Test (KDCET) 2016 Admission Brochure that shall be subject to the said Rules. In case of any discrepancy, the Rules shall prevail.

Parent’s  Study  Certificate  /  Parent’s  Hometown  Certificate  /  (Parent’s  Domicile Certificate / Parent’s Employment Certificate / Parent’s Cumulative Record / Parent’s Marks Card, etc.,) for the candidates claiming Eligibility for Government seats based on the (Domicile) / Study / (Employment) of the parent.

Minimum Two (02) Years Work Experience Certificate (for Evening Engineering College candidates) (work Experience Certificate should include Name of the Organization, Date of Joining, Designation, Working Period, No Objection Condition etc.,).

 

Valid NATA Score Card. (Result Sheet) in case of candidates applying for B. Arch Course.

Counseling (1st / 2nd / 3rd) Phase:

Seat Allotment based on the Merit / Inter se Merit of the candidates drawn up on the basis of the Karnataka Examinations Authority Diploma Common Entrance Test (KDCET) 2016 as detailed here under:

Ist / IInd / IIIrd   Phase :

i) Allotment of seats to all the disciplines as per the seat matrix issued by the Government.

a)       Physically Disabled Candidates

b)      NCC Candidates

c)       Sports Candidates

ii) Allotment of seats to Engineering

iii) Allotment of seats to Architecture

Selection Criteria:

  1. A)   DETERMINATION OF MERIT: The Karnataka Examinations Authority shall prepare Common Merit List of the Diploma holders for Day and Evening Colleges B.E/B.Tech Courses on the basis of the marks obtained in the Final Year Examination or Fifth and Sixth Semesters Examination leading to Diploma in the relevant branch of Engineering (Internal Assessment Marks shall be taken into consideration for determining the merit in case of Semester students, where Internal Assessment Marks are counted for declaring the Diploma Result) and the Marks obtained in the KDCET 2016 taken in equal proportions.

The Karnataka Examinations Authority, in case of Architecture Course, shall determine the Merit on the basis of the Marks obtained by candidates in the Qualifying Examination in all Subjects and the valid NATA Score taken in equal proportions.

If the merit of two or more candidates is the same, the Inter se Merit will be determined with reference to the marks obtained in the Entrance Test, and where the marks obtained in such cases are the same, the Inter se Merit will be determined on the basis of the marks obtained in the Second Year / Third & Fourth Semester and where the Marks secured in such case being the same, then the Inter se Merit will be determined based on the Marks obtained in the First Year / First & Second Semester and where the marks obtained in such cases are same, then the Inter se Merit would be determined on the basis of age of the candidates, wherein the elder candidate will be considered before the younger.
