The Military Engineer Services (MES) has scheduled the 14th of February 2016 (14.02.2016) Optical Mark Recognition Based Written Test consisting of One Single Test for various Mate Posts against 287 Posts (for the Year 2013 – 2014) and 193 Posts (for the Year 2014 – 2015) totaling 480 number of Vacancies.

MES Mate {Fitter|Electrician|Mechanic} Examination-2016

The Military Engineer Services (MES) would display on our Website Results of the Written Examination to be held on 14.02.2016 (in case of no change). Final Selection of the candidates shall be in aggregating Higher Marks and Marks given for Basic Qualification. Final Recruitment of the candidates shall be subject to Physical Fitness in the Medical Examination and Document Verification for Induction in different Commands mentioned in the Advertisement.      

The admit card for written test shall be submitted in duplicate as per format duly affixed with self-attested pass port size photograph in the space provided for and by duly filling Ser No 1 to 3, alongwith the application form. Mere submission of admit card does not imply or convey any assurance that the candidate will be called for the written test.

The Military Engineer Services would award Trade-related Marks as detailed here below:

Mode of Selection:

Military Engineer Services has explained the Selection Procedure as here under:

The Departmental candidates to be considered for selection shall be only those who have rendered not less than three years of continuous service in the Organization in the same Line or allied Cadres and where a relationship could be established that service rendered in the Department would be useful for efficient discharge of duties in their new posts.

The Selection shall be made in the following Stages:

The Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their individual performance in the Written Examination. The Candidates who qualify the Optical Mark Recognition Based Written Test would be recommended for appointment by the Recruiting Authority.

Success in the Written Examination confers no right of appointment unless the Government of India is satisfied after such enquiry as may be considered necessary that the candidate is suitable in all respects of the appointment to the Service / Post.

Resolution of the TIE Cases:

If there are candidates having the Same Aggregate Total Marks, then the TIE is resolved by referring to the marks in the Written Examination, as detailed here under:

In cases where more than one candidate secure the Same Equal Aggregates Marks in the Optical Mark Recognition Based Written Examination, then the TIE would be resolved by applying the following Methods one after another:

  1. A candidate having Higher Marks in the Written Examination gets preference over the candidates having Lesser Marks in the Written Test
  2. Date of Birth, the candidate Older in Age gets preference.
  3. Alphabetical Order in the First Names of the candidates appears, i.e., a candidate whose name begins with the Alphabet, which comes First in the Alphabetical Order, gets preference.
