Eligibilities

Age limits:

must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 32 years on the 1st January, 2017 i.e. he/she must have been born not earlier than 2nd January, 1984 and not later than 1st January, 1995
Central Ground Water Board (ii)                Jr. Hydrogeologist, Gr. A must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 35 years on the 1st January, 2017 i.e. he/she must have been born not earlier than 2nd January, 1980 and not later than 1st January, 1995

Aspirants belonging to the reserved categories and want to get the benefits of the Relaxations of upper age limit as per the norms of Government of India shall to wait for the official notification to confirm the details.

Geologist Group ‘A’ Master’s Degree in Geological Science or Geology or Applied Geology or Geology Exploration or Engineering Geology or Marine Geology or Earth Science and Resource Management or Oceanography and  Coastal Areas Studies or Petroleum Geosciences or Petroleum Exploration or Geochemistry or Geological Technology.
For Geophysicists Gr ‘A M.Sc. in Physics or Applied Physics or M.Sc. (Geophysics) or Integrated M.Sc. (Exploration Geophysics) or M.Sc (Applied Geophysics) or M.Sc. (Marine Geophysics) or M.Sc. (Tech.) (Applied Geophysics)
Chemists Gr ‘A’ M. Sc. in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry
Junior Hydrogeologist, Group A Master’s Degree in Geology or Applied Geology or Marine Geology, Hydrogeology.
All the degree stated above must be from a recognized university or educational institution established by the act of parliament.

Application Fee:

Candidates (excepting Female/SC/ST/ PH who are exempted from payment of fee) are required to pay a fee of Rs. 200/- (Rupees Two hundred only) either by depositing the money in any Branch of SBI by cash or by using net banking facility of State Bank of India/State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur/State Bank of Hyderabad/State Bank of Mysore/State Bank of Patiala/State Bank of Travancore or by using Visa/Master Credit/Debit card.

How to Apply for the Part 1 and Part 2 Registrations: 2017

  1. Candidates who are entitled to apply for the Combined Geo-Scientist & Geologist – 2017 will have to visit official website of UPSC.
  2. Candidates are advised to read out the whole notification carefully details by details of the Combined Geo-Scientist & Geologist– 2017 before applying for the examination. Candidates require confirming that they have valid E-Mail ID, Mobile Number, Scanned Copy of Photo and Signature which shall be required in further steps of registration of part-1 and 2.
