The West Bengal Staff Selection Commission (WBSSC), Online Registration in response to Advertisement No. 06 / WBSSC / 2015, Dated, 27.11.2015 has commenced w.e.f. the 27tt of November 2015 (27.11.2015) with the Submission of Online Applications closing on the 28th of December 2015 (28.12.2015) for Recruitment of the Lower Division Assistants and Lower Division Clerks (LDAs & LDCs) against 599 Posts in the Offices of the Department (Secretariat), Directorate and District under the Government of West Bengal.

The West Bengal Staff Selection Commission (WBSSC), Candidates apply through either WB Staff Selection Commission or Tathya Mitra. We would publish on our Website the Dates in respect of both downloading of the e-Admit Cards / Hall Tickets and the Optical Mark Recognition Based Written Examination of Part – I and the downloading of the e-Hall Tickets / Permission Letters for the Conventional Type / Descriptive Type of Paper of Part II. In view of the same, the candidates may like to bookmark our Website to stay updated at regular intervals.

Syllabus for Examination:

The Syllabus for the Written Examination shall be as be as detailed below:

Part – I
English: Fundamentals of the English such as Vocabulary, Grammar, Sentence Structure, Synonyms, Antonyms and its correct usage, etc.
General Studies Matters of Everyday Observation including Everyday Science, Current Events and Problems with special reference to India, Elementary Knowledge of Indian History and Indian Geography.
Arithmetic Divisibility, Fractions, Decimals, Recurring Decimals, Simplification, Highest Common Factor and Lowest Common Multiple (HCF & LCM), Partnership, Average, Ratio and Proportion, Percentage, Simple Interest, Profit and Loss, Time and Distance, Area of Rectangle & Squares.
Part–II
Group – A: English: a)       Drafting of a report in English from the Points or Materials supplied;

b)       Condensing of a Prose passage (Summary or Précis);

c)       Translation from Bengali / Hindi / Urdu / Nepali Language, as the case may be, in English Language.

Group – B :Bengali / Hindi / Urdu / Nepali a)       Drafting of a Report from the Points or Materials supplied;

b)       Condensing of a Prose Passage (Summary or Précis);

c)       Translation from English Language in Bengali or Hindi or Urdu or Nepali Language, as the case may be

Selection Criteria:

The West Bengal shall prepare the Final Merit List based on the Total Marks obtained in Part – I (Optical Mark Recognition Based Written Test) and Part II of the Written Examination.

Eligibility Criteria (As On 01.01.2015):

The Candidate should be Minimum 18 Years and must not exceed (Maximum) 40 Years. The Candidates belonging to their respective Reserved Categories are advised to carefully read (in respect of the Relaxation in Upper Age Limits) the Attached Notification.

Educational Qualification:

Secondary Examination or Madhyamik Pariksha Pass from the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or Equivalent Board;

i) A Pass in Secondary Examination / Madhyamik Pariksha of the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) or Equivalent.

ii) Acquisition of Elementary Knowledge in Computer Operation with the ability of typewriting on Computer at the speed of 20 Words Per Minute in English Language or 10 Words Per Minute in Bengali Language from a reputed Organization for a period not less than 06 (Six) months.

Application Fee (Mode of Payment: Debit Cards / Credit Cards / Net Banking of any Bank):

All Categories except Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe and Persons with Disabilities (of 40% and above only) need to pay Examination Fee: Rs. 200/- + 20/- (Processing Fee) = Rs. 220/-

Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe / Persons with Disabilities (of 40% and above) are exempted from the Examination Fee and have to pay Rs. 20/- (against Processing Fee / Charges) only.
